(10 December 2024) The EU Business Hub programme successfully concluded its first business mission: Digital Solutions Korea 2024.

Digital Solutions Korea 2024 was held from 2-6 December to provide a platform for EU SMEs and start-ups in the digital solutions sector to explore business opportunities and build partnerships in the Republic of Korea. EU SMEs and start-ups at the forefront of cutting-edge digital technologies—including AI, blockchain, cybersecurity, digital health, XR, media, robotics, semiconductors, software, and telecommunication infrastructure—visited Seoul to present their advanced technological expertise.

Notably, the event showcased groundbreaking solutions unique to EU SMEs and start-ups, incorporating the latest IT advancements such as generative AI, cloud computing, and digital twins, including AI-powered medical diagnostic systems solutions, spatial computing solutions, and robotic navigation solutions. Korean SMEs and large corporations in various fields of the digital solutions sector participated, showing a keen interest to partner with EU SMEs and start-ups.

The main programme of Digital Solutions Korea 2024, the ‘Business Exhibition’ allowed participating Korean companies to discover cutting-edge technologies and discuss practical aspects for partnerships and expand business opportunities through 1:1 meetings.

At the ‘Business Networking Reception’ held on the afternoon of 3^rd December, companies from 17 EU countries and Korea engaged in business networking conversations, fostering future collaboration in a more informal setting. A Korean participant commented, "It turned out to be a much more dynamic and proactive networking experience than expected. It provided a meaningful opportunity to freely connect with a diverse range of European countries that are usually hard to reach, share key insights on global business expansion and technological innovation, and directly explore the potential for collaboration.”

The EU Business Hub programme also operated a booth at Softwave 2024 at COEX in Seoul from 4^th to 6^th December. By having a dedicated booth, the team introduced the EU Business Hub programme and provided an opportunity for B2B matchmaking to Softwave 2024 participants. The EU SMEs and start-ups participating in Digital Solutions Korea 2024 visited Softwave 2024 in person, engaging with Korean companies.

(2024년 12월 10일) EU Business Hub(이하 ‘EU 비즈니스 허브’) 프로그램이 첫 번째 전시상담회 Digital Solutions Korea 2024(이하 '디지털 솔루션 코리아 2024')를 성황리에 마쳤다.

지난 12월 2일부터 6일까지 진행된 디지털 솔루션 코리아 2024는 디지털 솔루션 분야의 유럽 중소기업 및 스타트업과 국내 기업이 글로벌 비즈니스 기회를 모색하고 파트너십을 구축할 수 있는 자리를 마련하기 위해 개최됐다. AI, 블록체인, 사이버보안, 디지털헬스, 확장현실(XR), 온라인 미디어 플랫폼, 로봇 공학, 반도체, 소프트웨어, 통신 등 첨단 디지털 기술을 가진 유럽 기업들이 서울에 방문해 그들의 선진 기술 역량을 선보였다. 

특히 AI 기반의 의료 진단 솔루션, 공간 컴퓨팅 솔루션, 로봇 내비게이션 솔루션 등 생성형 AI, 클라우드, 디지털 트윈과 같은 최신 IT 기술을 활용한 유럽 기업만의 혁신 솔루션이 돋보였다. 유럽 중소기업 및 스타트업과의 파트너십을 원하는 국내 다양한 디지털 솔루션 분야의 중소기업 및 대기업들이 이들 기업에 뜨거운 관심을 보였다.

디지털 솔루션 코리아 2024의 메인 프로그램인 ‘비즈니스 전시회’를 통해 참여 기업들은 서로의 최첨단 기술 트렌드를 살펴보고, 1:1 미팅을 통해 실질적인 측면에서의 파트너십 구축을 논의하고, 비즈니스 확대를 위한 기회를 모색했다.

12월 3일 오후에 열린 ‘비즈니스 네트워킹 리셉션’에서는 유럽의 17개국 및 한국 기업들이 편안한 분위기 속에서 자연스럽게 대화하며 미래 협력 관계를 다지는 시간을 가졌다. 비즈니스 네트워킹 리셉션에 참여한 한국 참가 기업인은 “생각했던 것보다 훨씬 활발하고 적극적인 네트워킹이 이뤄졌으며, 평소 만나기 어려운 다양한 유럽 국가와 자유롭게 소통하며 글로벌 사업 확장, 기술력 혁신에 대한 중요한 식견을 공유하고, 협력 가능성을 직접 확인할 수 있는 뜻깊은 시간이었다”고 말했다. 

또한 EU 비즈니스 허브 프로그램은 12월 4일부터 6일까지 서울 코엑스에서 열린 ‘2024 대한민국 소프트웨어 대전 (Softwave 2024, 이하 ‘소프트웨이브 2024’)’에서 부스를 운영했다. 전용 부스를 통해 소프트웨이브 2024 참가사에게 EU 비즈니스 허브 프로그램 및 전시상담회에 대해 알리고, B2B 매치메이킹 기회도 제공했다. 디지털 솔루션 코리아 2024에 참여한 유럽 중소기업 및 스타트업들이 직접 소프트웨이브 2024에 방문해 한국 기업들과 현장 매치메이킹 시간을 가지기도 했다. 

주한 유럽연합(EU) 대표부의 EU 비즈니스 허브 프로그램 담당관 타니스 벨로(Tanith Bello)는 “이번 한 주간의 비즈니스 매칭메이킹 및 네트워킹 행사를 통해 유럽 기업과 국내 파트너 간의 연결이 지속되고, 견고한 협력 관계로 성장하기를 기대한다”고 밝혔다.

(8 November 2024) The EU Business Hub programme will host the first exhibition: Digital Solutions Korea 2024.

The Digital Solutions Korea 2024 will take place in December over three days, on 3^rd (Tuesday), 5^th (Thursday), and 6^th (Friday), at the SOFITEL Ambassador Seoul Hotel in Jamsil. Selected European SMEs and Start-ups with technological capabilities and track records of international business cooperation will visit Seoul and exhibit their innovative digital solutions.

The European companies participating in this event provide digital solutions using cutting-edge technologies such as AI, blockchain, cybersecurity, digital health, Extended Reality (XR), IoT, online media platforms, robotics, semiconductors, telecommunications and many more innovative software solutions.

In particular, for three days, the EU Business Hub will offer Business to Business (B2B) matchmaking. EU companies will hold business talks with interested Korean companies. The event provides opportunities for 1:1 meetings for companies to build diverse business prospects, including technology partnerships, licensing, and joint R&D, all aimed at building meaningful business relationships. In order to facilitate communication during business meetings, an interpretation service is provided at the exhibition.

Additionally, a Business Networking Reception hosted by the EU Delegation to the Republic of Korea will take place on 3^rd December (Tuesday) at the exhibition venue where key local business stakeholders are invited. It will allow attendees to enhance their networking connections with the European SMEs and start-ups in a more informal setting.

The EU Business Hub – Korea programme will also be operating a booth at Softwave 2024, taking place 4^th –6^th December at COEX, Seoul, to actively promote the visibility of the programme and its business mission. On 4^th December (Wednesday), EU SMEs and start-ups participating in the business mission will visit Softwave 2024, providing 1:1 onsite matchmaking opportunity for Softwave 2024 exhibitors.

About the EU Business Hub –Korea Programme

The EU Business HUB – Korea is a programme funded by the European Union that aims at supporting business collaboration between Korean and EU companies. Between 2024 and 2027, the programme will organise a total of 10 business missions in the form of business-to-business (B2B) matchmaking and exhibition events in three industry sectors: Digital Solutions, Healthcare & Medical Equipment, and Green & Low-carbon Technologies. 디지털 솔루션 코리아 2024는 12월 3일(화), 5일(목), 6일(금) 총 3일간 잠실에 위치한 소피텔 앰배서더 서울 호텔에서 개최된다. 뛰어난 전문성과 기술력은 물론 국제 비즈니스 협력 실적까지 갖춘 유럽의 중소기업 및 스타트업이 서울에 방문해 그들의 혁신적인 디지털 기술 역량을 선보일 예정이다.  

이번 행사에 참여하는 유럽 기업들은 AI, IoT, XR, 디지털 헬스, 로봇 공학, 반도체, 블록체인, 사이버 보안, 온라인 미디어 플랫폼, 통신 등 혁신적인 소프트웨어 솔루션과 같은 최첨단 기술을 활용한 디지털 솔루션을 제공하고 있다.
