EU Business Hub receives the ‘KES Innovation Partner Award’ at the 15th KES Innovation Awards

(19 October 2026) The EU Business Hub programme has successfully concluded the business mission ‘EU Business Hub @ Korea Electronics Show 2026’, held at COEX in Seoul from 13 to 16 October. Organised in conjunction with Korea Electronics Show 2026 (KES 2026), one of Korea’s leading electronics and IT exhibitions, the event featured an EU Pavilion and facilitated business meetings and technology exchanges between European companies and Korean businesses and organisations.

44 innovative European SMEs and start-ups participated in the event, showcasing products and solutions across advanced technology sectors, including AX (AI Transformation), robotics, mobility, digital health and life, XR and spatial computing, and electronic components and materials. 

The EU Pavilion ran for four days from 13 to 16 October in Hall B of COEX. From their dedicated exhibition booths at the EU pavilion, the European cohort introduced their technological capabilities and innovative solutions to Korean industry representatives. Participating companies held productive business meetings with Korean stakeholders to explore opportunities to enter the Korean market and pursue technology and business cooperation.

Throughout the exhibition, numerous local businesses and industry stakeholders visited the EU Pavilion to experience European technologies and solutions first-hand. To ensure smooth communication between European and Korean stakeholders, the EU Business Hub provided professional interpretation services, supporting substantive discussions on potential cooperation.

During KES 2026, the EU Business Hub received the KES Innovation Partner Award at the 15th KES Innovation Awards. The award recognises organisations that identify outstanding innovative companies through the operation of joint pavilions at KES and contribute to the innovation achievements of participating companies. In addition, 12 products from 11 EU Business Hub participating companies, including SofMedica Ventures, were selected as winners of the KES Innovation Awards and received their awards at the ceremony on 13 October. 

A business networking reception was also held on the evening of 13 October at The Westin Seoul Parnas. Representatives from European and Korean companies and organisations, as well as the Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Korea, attended the reception, with approximately 200 participants in total.  The evening featured remarks from the EU Delegation, the European Chamber of Commerce in Korea and the Korea Electronics Association, followed by a celebration of the KES Innovation Awards winners. The event gave participating companies and Korean industry representatives an opportunity to network and explore opportunities for future cooperation. Participants exchanged views on technology and market trends across a range of industries, further expanding business networks between Europe and Korea.

On the evening of 14 October, EU Business Hub participants took part in KES Biz Connect, the official networking programme of KES 2026 held at COEX. The Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Korea joined the Korea Electronics Association and the Consumer Technology Association in addressing participants, underlining the growing links between European and Korean industry.

By bringing together exhibition activities, business meetings and networking in an integrated programme, the event helped expand opportunities for Korea-EU business cooperation in advanced technology sectors. Building on this momentum, the EU Business Hub will continue to support European companies seeking to enter the Korean market and develop partnerships with Korean companies.

The next business exhibition, ‘EU Business Hub @ Korea Smart Grid Expo 2027’, is scheduled to take place from 2 to 4 February 2027. (2026년 10월 19일) EU 비즈니스 허브(EU Business Hub) 프로그램이 지난 10월 13일(화)부터 16일(금)까지 서울 COEX에서 진행된 ‘EU 비즈니스 허브 – KES 2026(EU Business Hub @ Korea Electronics Show 2026)’ 전시상담회를 성공적으로 마무리했다. 이번 전시상담회는 국내 대표 전자·IT 전시회인 ‘KES 2026(한국전자전)’과 연계해 EU 파빌리온을 운영하고, 유럽 기업과 국내 기업 및 기관 간 비즈니스 미팅과 기술 교류를 지원하는 프로그램으로 진행됐다.

이번 행사에는 유럽의 혁신 중소기업 및 스타트업 44개사가 참가해 AI Transformation(AX), 로보틱스, 모빌리티, 디지털 헬스·라이프, XR 및 공간컴퓨팅, 전자부품·소재 등 첨단 기술 분야의 제품과 솔루션을 선보였다.

EU 파빌리온은 10월 13일(화)부터 16일(금)까지 4일간 COEX 1층 B홀에서 운영됐다. 참가 기업들은 EU 파빌리온 내 전시 부스에서 자사의 기술 경쟁력과 혁신 솔루션을 국내 산업계에 소개했다. 또한 국내 기업 및 기관 관계자들과 현장 비즈니스 미팅을 진행하며 한국 시장 진출과 기술·사업 협력 가능성을 논의했다.

전시 기간 동안 국내 유관 기업 및 기관 관계자들은 EU 파빌리온을 방문해 유럽 기업의 혁신 기술과 솔루션을 직접 확인하는 등 활발한 교류를 이어갔다. EU 비즈니스 허브는 유럽 기업과 국내 기업 및 기관 간 원활한 소통을 위해 전문 통역 서비스를 제공하며 참가 기업 간 실질적인 협력 논의를 지원했다.

이번 KES 2026 참가와 함께 EU 비즈니스 허브는 ‘제15회 KES 이노베이션 어워즈 – KES 혁신 파트너상’을 수상했다. KES 혁신 파트너상은 KES 공동관 운영을 통해 우수 혁신기업을 발굴하고 참가기업의 혁신 성과 창출에 기여한 기관을 선정해 수여하는 상이다. SofMedica Ventures 등 EU 비즈니스 허브 참가기업 11개사의 총 12개 제품이 KES 이노베이션 어워즈 수상작으로 선정돼 10월 13일 열린 시상식에서 상을 받았다.

또한 10월 13일(화) 저녁에는 서울 웨스틴 파르나스에서 ‘비즈니스 네트워킹 리셉션’이 개최됐다. 주한 유럽연합(EU) 대표부를 비롯해 유럽 및 한국의 기업·기관 관계자 약 200명이 참석했다. 리셉션에서는 주한 EU 대표부, 주한유럽상공회의소(ECCK), 한국전자정보통신산업진흥회(KEA) 관계자의 인사말과 KES 이노베이션 어워즈 수상 기업 축하 순서에 이어, 참가 기업과 국내 산업계 관계자들이 자유롭게 교류하며 향후 협력 가능성을 모색하는 시간이 마련됐다. 참석자들은 다양한 산업 분야의 기술 및 시장 동향에 대해 의견을 나누며 유럽과 한국 간 비즈니스 네트워크를 확대했다.

10월 14일(수) 저녁에는 EU 비즈니스 허브 참가 기업들이 COEX에서 열린 KES 2026 공식 네트워킹 프로그램 ‘KES Biz Connect’에 참석했다. 주한 유럽연합(EU) 대표부는 한국전자정보통신산업진흥회(KEA), 미국소비자기술협회(CTA)와 함께 참석자들에게 인사말을 전하며 유럽과 한국 산업계 간 협력 확대의 의미를 짚었다.

Korean companies to explore practical cooperation and partnership opportunities through one-to-one business meetings with European companies across the electronics industry 

EU Pavilion at Korea’s largest IT exhibition to present European electronics technologies and provide a platform for discussion on innovation and industry trends 

(9 September 2026) The EU Business Hub programme will take part in Korea Electronics Show 2026, the country’s largest IT exhibition, with a large-scale EU Pavilion at COEX in Seoul from 13 to 16 October. 

The EU Pavilion, located in Hall B on the first floor of COEX, will open from 13–16 October. The EU Business Hub will bring together up to 50 innovative European SMEs and startups across six key subsectors: AX (AI Transformation), robotics, mobility, digital health and life, XR and spatial computing, and electronic components and materials, showcasing their latest technologies and innovations. 

The exhibition will also provide Korean companies with opportunities to discover the capabilities of European businesses first-hand and explore potential partnerships through one-to-one business meetings. Discussions will cover strategic partnerships, sourcing and distribution, licensing and technology transfer, and investment opportunities. Professional interpretation services will be provided at no cost at the venue to facilitate communication during business meetings. 

A business networking reception, organised by the Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Korea, will be held on the afternoon of Tuesday, 13 October at The Westin Seoul Parnas. The reception will provide an opportunity for European and Korean organisations to exchange views on innovation in the electronics and digital industries in an informal setting, with leading figures from Korea’s business community also expected to attend. 

Korean companies and organisations interested in attending the business exhibition or networking reception may register free of charge, regardless of size, via the pre-registration form. Companies can also create an account on the EU Business Hub website to indicate their interest in meeting participating European companies ahead of the event.  

The EU Business Hub is an EU-funded programme that serves as a bridge between European SMEs and startups and the Republic of Korea. By 2027, the programme will have organised a total of 10 business missions across the sectors of green and low-carbon technologies, digital solutions, and healthcare and medical equipment. Each exhibition will feature 50 carefully selected European companies, showcasing competitive technologies and solutions to the Korean market. 

To date, the EU Business Hub has successfully facilitated tangible business cooperation between European and Korean companies through six missions. Around 40 European companies participated, with active discussions on technologies and potential co-operation through pitching sessions and on-site business meetings

(26 May 2026) The EU Business Hub programme has successfully concluded the EU Business Hub @ ENVEX 2026 business mission, held in Seoul from Monday, 18 May to Friday, 22 May. The business mission was operated as an integrated programme that organically connected a Policy and Business Forum, the exhibition at the EU Pavilion within ENVEX 2026, on-site business matchmaking, as well as a Business Networking Reception.

On Tuesday, 19 May, the EU Business Hub programme and the EU–Korea Green Partnership Programme jointly hosted the EU-Korea Clean Energy Technology Forum under the theme “EU Clean Tech – Driving Tomorrow’s Industrial Competitiveness.” The forum brought together around 150 participants, including high-level representatives from the European Commission (DG GROW), the Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Korea, EU Member State embassies, European companies, and key Korean stakeholders from industry, academia, and government. Discussions focused on collaboration opportunities between EU and Korean organisations in the sector as well as ways to leverage sustainability and energy efficiency as key drivers of industrial competitiveness.

The forum was designed to share the policy directions and technological competitiveness of the EU and Korea ahead of the Business Exhibition, while enhancing awareness and understanding among key stakeholders. Participants also shared insights on clean energy technology trends and Korea–EU co-operation cases. This was followed by a panel discussion on the linkage between sustainability and industrial competitiveness in the global energy transition, as well as ways to further expand co-operation.

The Business Exhibition in the green and low-carbon technology sector was held over three days from Wednesday, 20 May to Friday, 22 May, in the form of an EU Pavilion within ENVEX 2026, Korea’s leading environmental and energy exhibition. The EU Pavilion brought together around 40 promising European SMEs and start-ups across the green and low-carbon technology sector, including water treatment solutions, clean energy technologies, energy systems, environmental monitoring and analysis equipment, and environmental and climate mitigation solutions. In particular, on the afternoon of Thursday, 21 May, participating companies held a Pitching Session near the EU Pavilion, where they directly introduced their technologies and solutions to visitors, helping deepen understanding of their offerings.

Throughout the exhibition period, representatives from relevant Korean companies and institutions had the opportunity to experience Europe’s advanced technologies first-hand and actively engaged in various on-site business meetings. The EU Business Hub supported substantive co-operation discussions among participating companies by providing professional interpretation services to facilitate smooth communication.

In addition, a Business Networking Reception was held on the evening of Wednesday, 20 May, at the Grand InterContinental Seoul Parnas. The reception was attended by representatives from the Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Korea, as well as representatives from companies, industry associations, and investment firms, along with other key industry figures from Europe and Korea. In a relaxed setting, participants exchanged views on the future direction of innovation in the global green and low-carbon technology industry and built solid networks.

Through EU Business Hub @ ENVEX 2026, policy sharing, technology exchange, business matchmaking, and network building were carried out in an integrated manner, further strengthening the foundation for co-operation between Korea and the EU in the green industry sector. Building on this momentum, the EU Business Hub will continue to expand co-operation between both sides.

(2026년 5월 26일) EU 비즈니스 허브(EU Business Hub) 프로그램이 지난 5월 18일(월)부터 22일(금)까지 서울에서 진행된 ‘EU 비즈니스 허브 – 엔벡스 2026(EU Business Hub @ ENVEX 2026)’ 전시상담회를 성공적으로 마무리했다. 이번 전시상담회는 정책·비즈니스 포럼을 시작으로, 전시 기간 중 ‘엔벡스 2026(ENVEX 2026)’ 내 EU 파빌리온 운영 및 현장 비즈니스 매칭, 이후 네트워킹 리셉션까지 유기적으로 연계된 통합 프로그램으로 운영됐다.

5월 19일(화)에는 EU 비즈니스 허브 프로그램과 한-EU 그린 파트너십 프로그램(EU-Korea Green Partnership Programme)의 공동 주관으로 ‘EU 클린테크: 미래 산업 경쟁력을 견인하다(EU Clean Tech – Driving tomorrow’s industrial competitiveness)’을 주제로 한 ‘EU-한 청정에너지 기술 포럼’이 개최됐다. 유럽연합 집행위원회(DG GROW), 주한 EU 대표부, EU 회원국 대사관의 고위급 관계자를 비롯해 유럽 기업 및 한국 산업·학계·정부 주요 관계자 등 150여 명이 참석한 이번 행사에서는 지속가능성과 에너지 효율을 산업 경쟁력의 핵심 동력으로 활용하는 방안과 함께, 해당 분야에서 EU와 한국 기관 간 협력 기회 등에 대한 논의가 이뤄졌다.

본 포럼은 비즈니스 전시에 앞서 EU와 한국의 정책 방향과 기술 경쟁력을 공유하고, 주요 이해관계자 간 인식과 이해를 높이기 위해 마련됐다. 참석자들은 청정에너지 기술 동향과 한-EU 협력 사례에 대한 인사이트도 공유했다. 이어진 패널 토론에서는 글로벌 에너지 전환 환경 속에서 지속가능성과 산업 경쟁력 간의 연계 및 협력 확대 방안에 대한 논의가 이어졌다.

녹색 저탄소 기술 분야 비즈니스 전시는 5월 20일(수)부터 22일(금)까지 3일간 국내 최대 환경·에너지 전시회인 ‘엔벡스 2026’ 내에 파빌리온 형태로 운영됐다. EU 파빌리온에는 수처리 솔루션, 청정 에너지 기술, 에너지 시스템, 환경 모니터링 및 분석 장비, 환경·기후 완화 솔루션 등 녹색 저탄소 분야 전반을 아우르는 유럽 유망 중소기업 및 스타트업 약 40개사가 참가했다. 특히 5월 21일(목) 오후에는 EU 파빌리온 인근에서 참여 기업들이 자사의 기술과 솔루션을 직접 소개하는 피칭 세션(Pitching Session)을 진행해 참관객들의 이해를 높였다. 

전시 기간 동안 국내 유관 기업 및 기관 관계자들은 유럽의 선진 기술력을 직접 확인하고 현장에서 다양한 비즈니스 미팅을 진행하는 등 활발한 교류를 이어갔다. EU 비즈니스 허브는 원활한 소통을 위해 전문 통역 서비스를 제공하며 참여 기업 간 실질적인 협력 논의를 지원했다.

또한 5월 20일(수) 저녁 그랜드 인터컨티넨탈 서울 파르나스에서 개최된 ‘비즈니스 네트워킹 리셉션’에서는 주한 유럽연합(EU) 대표부와 유럽 및 한국의 기업·산업 협회·투자사 관계자를 포함한 주요 산업계 인사들이 참석했다. 참석자들은 편안한 분위기 속에서 글로벌 녹색 저탄소 기술 산업의 혁신 방향에 대해 의견을 나누며 견고한 네트워크를 구축하는 시간을 가졌다.

(14 April 2026) The EU Business Hub programme will participate in the International Exhibition on Environmental Technology & Green Energy, ENVEX 2026, taking place from 20 to 22 May at COEX in Seoul, with a large-scale EU Pavilion.

The business exhibition will be held at the EU Pavilion in Hall A on the first floor of COEX, operating from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on 20 and 21 May, and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the final day, 22 May. The exhibition will feature 50 promising European SMEs and start-ups, covering a full spectrum of green and low-carbon technologies, including water treatment solutions, clean energy technologies, energy systems, environmental monitoring instruments, and advanced climate mitigation solutions. Participating companies will showcase their latest innovations and technological advancements.

Through the exhibition, Korean companies will have the opportunity to directly assess the competitiveness of the participating European companies and explore concrete collaboration opportunities through business meetings, including strategic partnerships, identification of purchasing and distribution partners, licensing and technology transfer, and investment opportunities.

To further promote in-depth exchanges, a business networking reception will be held on the afternoon of 20 May at the Grand InterContinental Seoul Parnas, organised by the Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Korea. By 2027, the programme will organise a total of 10 business missions across the sectors of green and low-carbon technologies, digital solutions, and healthcare and medical equipment. Each exhibition will feature 50 carefully selected European companies, showcasing competitive technologies and solutions to the Korean market.

To date, the EU Business Hub has successfully facilitated tangible business cooperation between European and Korean companies through five missions. Building on this momentum, the programme will continue to support the expansion of global networks between the two regions through five upcoming exhibitions, including ‘EU Business Hub @ ENVEX 2026’.

(2026년 4월 14일) EU 비즈니스 허브(EU Business Hub)가 오는 5월 20일(수)부터 22일(금)까지 서울 코엑스에서 개최되는 국제환경산업기술&그린에너지전 ‘엔벡스 2026(ENVEX 2026)’에 대규모 ‘EU 파빌리온’으로 참가한다.

행사는 20일부터 21일까지 오전 10시부터 오후 6시까지, 마지막 날인 22일에는 오후 4시까지 코엑스 1층 A홀 내 EU 파빌리온에서 진행된다. 이번 ‘비즈니스 전시회’에는 수처리 솔루션, 청정 에너지 기술, 에너지 시스템, 환경 모니터링 및 분석 장비, 환경·기후 완화 등 녹색 저탄소 분야 전반을 아우르는 유럽의 유망 중소기업 및 스타트업 50개사가 참여해 최신 혁신을 선보일 예정이다.

이를 통해 한국 기업들은 유럽 기업의 경쟁력을 직접 확인하고, 비즈니스 미팅을 통해 전략적 파트너십, 구매·유통 파트너 발굴, 라이선싱 및 기술 이전, 투자처 확보 등의 협업 가능성을 구체적으로 논의할 수 있다. 

또한 심도 있는 교류를 위해 5월 20일(수) 오후, 그랜드 인터컨티넨탈 서울 파르나스에서 주한 유럽연합(EU) 대표부 주관의 ‘비즈니스 네트워킹 리셉션’이 별도로 개최된다. 본 행사는 유럽과 한국 기업들이 편안한 분위기 속에서 녹색 저탄소 기술 산업의 혁신 방향을 논의하고 교류할 수 있는 자리로, 국내 주요 산업계 인사들도 초청될 예정이다.

(23 March 2026) The EU Business Hub programme has successfully concluded its large-scale EU Pavilion at KIMES 2026, the Korea International Medical & Hospital Equipment Show, held at COEX in Seoul from 19 to 22 March.

This year the EU Business Hub business mission for the Healthcare and Medical Equipment sector was organised as an integrated pavilion within KIMES 2026, Korea’s largest medical industry exhibition. Throughout the exhibition, representatives from relevant Korean companies and institutions experienced advanced European technologies first-hand and engaged in relevant business meetings, fostering active and substantive exchanges.

Located in Hall D on the third floor of COEX, the EU Pavilion brought together about 50 promising European SMEs and start-ups from across the healthcare sector, including healthcare ICT, telemedicine, nanotechnology, AI (artificial intelligence) in healthcare and regenerative medicine. Participating companies held in-depth discussions with Korean counterparts on technological collaboration and potential partnerships, while the EU Business Hub supported tangible business development by providing professional interpretation services to ensure smooth communication throughout the meetings.

Notably, concrete collaboration outcomes were also achieved between European companies and Korean partners during and immediately after the exhibition. Respira, an Italy-based company developing a smart platform that transforms indoor spaces into intelligent and science-driven environments enhancing human wellbeing, signed a License Agreement with Ajou University (President Choi Kee-choo) during the exhibition period, laying the groundwork for research and technological cooperation. 

In addition, Medicalgorithmics, a Polish med-tech company specialising in AI-powered advanced cardiac diagnostics, concluded a new partnership agreement with a leading Korean provider of wearable ECG technologies immediately following the exhibition. These outcomes demonstrate that the EU Business Hub programme successfully serves as a platform and catalyst for fostering tangible business collaborations.

A Business Networking Reception was held on the afternoon of 20 March at The Westin Seoul Parnas, bringing together the Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Korea as well as key industry representatives from Europe and Korea. In a relaxed setting, participants exchanged views on the future direction of innovation in the global healthcare and medical equipment industries, while building strong and lasting networks.

A representative of a Korean medical devices company who took part in the event said, “It was highly valuable to be able to review innovative solutions from globally competitive European companies in one place and discuss concrete avenues for collaboration through one-to-one meetings,” adding, “In particular, with the support of interpretation services and the high level of accessibility, we were able to enhance our understanding and gain practical business insights. The friendly and detailed hands-on demonstrations were especially impressive.”

이번 헬스케어 및 의료기기 분야 전시는 국내 최대 의료산업 전시회인 ‘키메스 2026’ 내에 파빌리온 형태로 참가하여 진행됐다. 이를 통해 전시 기간 중 국내 유관 기업 및 기관 관계자들은 유럽의 선진 기술력을 직접 체험하고 현장에서 유의미한 비즈니스 미팅을 진행하는 등 활발한 교류를 이어갔다.

특히 이번 전시회 기간 동안 및 종료 직후에는 유럽 기업과 국내 기관 간의 구체적인 협력 성과도 도출됐다. 실내 공간을 지능적이고 과학 기반의 환경으로 전환해 사용자의 건강과 삶의 질을 향상시키는 스마트 플랫폼을 개발하는 이탈리아 기업 Respira는 전시회 기간 중 아주대학교(총장 최기주)와 라이선스 계약을 체결하며 연구 및 기술 협력 기반을 마련했으며, AI 기반 고도 심장 진단 기술에 특화된 폴란드 메드테크 기업 Medicalgorithmics는 전시 종료 직후 웨어러블 ECG 기술 분야의 선도적인 한국 기업과 새로운 파트너십 계약을 체결했다. 이러한 성과는 EU 비즈니스 허브 프로그램이 단순 전시 참여를 넘어 실질적인 비즈니스 협력 창출 플랫폼으로 기능하고 있음을 보여준다.

지난 3월 20일 오후 웨스틴 서울 파르나스에서 개최된 ‘비즈니스 네트워킹 리셉션’에서는 주한 유럽연합(EU) 대표부와 유럽 및 한국의 주요 산업계 인사들이 참여했다. 참석자들은 편안한 분위기 속에서 글로벌 헬스케어 및 의료기기 산업의 혁신 방향에 대해 의견을 나누며 견고한 네트워크를 형성하는 시간을 가졌다.
