(23 March 2026) The EU Business Hub programme has successfully concluded its large-scale EU Pavilion at KIMES 2026, the Korea International Medical & Hospital Equipment Show, held at COEX in Seoul from 19 to 22 March.

This year the EU Business Hub business mission for the Healthcare and Medical Equipment sector was organised as an integrated pavilion within KIMES 2026, Korea’s largest medical industry exhibition. Throughout the exhibition, representatives from relevant Korean companies and institutions experienced advanced European technologies first-hand and engaged in relevant business meetings, fostering active and substantive exchanges.

Located in Hall D on the third floor of COEX, the EU Pavilion brought together about 50 promising European SMEs and start-ups from across the healthcare sector, including healthcare ICT, telemedicine, nanotechnology, AI (artificial intelligence) in healthcare and regenerative medicine. Participating companies held in-depth discussions with Korean counterparts on technological collaboration and potential partnerships, while the EU Business Hub supported tangible business development by providing professional interpretation services to ensure smooth communication throughout the meetings.

Notably, concrete collaboration outcomes were also achieved between European companies and Korean partners during and immediately after the exhibition. Respira, an Italy-based company developing a smart platform that transforms indoor spaces into intelligent and science-driven environments enhancing human wellbeing, signed a License Agreement with Ajou University (President Choi Kee-choo) during the exhibition period, laying the groundwork for research and technological cooperation. 

In addition, Medicalgorithmics, a Polish med-tech company specialising in AI-powered advanced cardiac diagnostics, concluded a new partnership agreement with a leading Korean provider of wearable ECG technologies immediately following the exhibition. These outcomes demonstrate that the EU Business Hub programme successfully serves as a platform and catalyst for fostering tangible business collaborations.

A Business Networking Reception was held on the afternoon of 20 March at The Westin Seoul Parnas, bringing together the Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Korea as well as key industry representatives from Europe and Korea. In a relaxed setting, participants exchanged views on the future direction of innovation in the global healthcare and medical equipment industries, while building strong and lasting networks.

A representative of a Korean medical devices company who took part in the event said, “It was highly valuable to be able to review innovative solutions from globally competitive European companies in one place and discuss concrete avenues for collaboration through one-to-one meetings,” adding, “In particular, with the support of interpretation services and the high level of accessibility, we were able to enhance our understanding and gain practical business insights. The friendly and detailed hands-on demonstrations were especially impressive.”

The event, held on 11 and 12 June, brought together European and Korean companies specialised in green and low-carbon technologies to explore global business opportunities and foster potential partnerships. European companies visited Seoul to present their cutting-edge technologies and innovative capabilities across a wide range of areas, including circularity, clean energy technologies, energy systems, and environmental monitoring analysis and assessment equipment.

During the business mission, participating companies showcased their technologies, solutions and products, and engaged in one-on-one business meetings to discuss potential areas of collaboration and identify opportunities for business expansion. The EU Business Hub programme provided professional interpretation services to facilitate effective communication during these meetings.

Another highlight of the business mission was its Business Networking Reception, hosted by the Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Korea. During the business exhibition, held from 10:00 to 18:00 at the Orchid room, up to 50 promising European SMEs and start-ups will showcase cutting-edge green and low-carbon technologies, along with innovative solutions. These will cover a wide range of fields, including clean energy technologies, energy systems, environmental monitoring and assessment equipment, circular economy, and solutions for environmental and climate change mitigation. The EU Business Hub offers Korean companies the opportunity to explore products, services, and technologies of European companies and engage with them in 1:1 business meetings to discuss potential collaboration.

On Wednesday 11 June, a business networking reception will take place at the Chrysanthemum room, hosted by the Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Korea. This event will provide an opportunity for European and Korean companies to engage in discussions and exchange ideas on the future direction of innovation in the green technology industry in a more informal context. Key local business stakeholders are also invited – upon registration – to attend this event.

The EU Business Hub has successfully facilitated practical business collaboration opportunities between European and Korean companies in the digital and healthcare sectors thanks to events such as ‘Digital Solutions Korea 2024’ in December 2024 and ‘Healthcare and Medical Equipment Korea 2025’ in March 2025. (2025년 5월 12일) EU 비즈니스 허브(EU Business Hub) 프로그램의 일환으로 개최되는 '녹색 저탄소 기술 코리아 2025'(Green and Low-Carbon Technologies Korea 2025) 전시상담회가 오는 6월 11일(수)과 12일(목) 양일간 그랜드 인터컨티넨탈 서울 파르나스에서 개최된다.

오전 10시부터 오후 6시까지 오키드룸에서 개최되는 ‘비즈니스 전시회’에는 청정 에너지 기술, 에너지 시스템, 환경 모니터링 및 평가 장비, 자원순환, 환경 및 기후 변화 완화 솔루션 등 다양한 분야를 아우르는 최대 50 개의 유럽 유망 중소기업 및 스타트업이 참가해 최신 녹색 저탄소 기술 및 혁신 솔루션을 선보일 예정이다. 해당 전시회를 통해 EU 비즈니스 허브는 한국 기업들이 유럽 기업의 제품, 서비스, 기술을 직접 체험하고, 1:1 비즈니스 미팅을 통해 협업 가능성을 논의할 수 있는 기회를 제공한다.

6월 11일(수) 오후 국화룸에서는 주한 유럽연합(EU) 대표부가 주관하는 ‘비즈니스 네트워킹 리셉션’이 열릴 예정이다. 유럽과 한국 기업들이 편안한 분위기 속에서 그린 테크놀로지 산업의 혁신 방향에 대해 논의하고 교류할 수 있는 장으로 마련되며, 국내 주요 산업계 인사들도 초청될 계획이다.

녹색 저탄소 기술 코리아 2025에 참여를 희망하는 국내 유관 기업 및 기관은 규모에 상관없이 EU 비즈니스 허브 한국 웹사이트에서 사전 등록을 통해 무료로 신청 가능하다. 해당 웹사이트에서 참여 예정인 유럽 기업 목록을 확인하고 기업과의 미팅에 관심을 표명할 수 있다. 비즈니스 미팅 시에는 원활한 소통을 지원하기 위한 전문 통역 서비스도 제공될 예정이다.

EU 비즈니스 허브는 앞서 지난해 12월 ‘디지털 솔루션 코리아 2024’, 지난 3월 ‘헬스케어∙의료기기 코리아 2025’를 통해 디지털 및 헬스케어 산업 분야에서 유럽과 한국 기업 간 실질적인 비즈니스 협력 기회를 성공적으로 지원한 바 있다. EU 비즈니스 허브는 이번 ‘녹색 저탄소 기술 코리아 2025’를 포함해 앞으로 예정된 8회의 전시상담회를 통해 유럽과 한국 기업 모두에게 글로벌 네트워크를 확장할 수 있는 계기를 제공하겠다는 방침이다.

주한 EU 대표부의 타니스 벨로(Tanith Bello) 프로그램 담당관은 “녹색 전환과 탄소중립은 전 세계 산업계가 함께 해결해야 할 공동 과제이며 유럽은 이 분야에서 기술 혁신을 선도하고 있다”며, “이번 전시상담회는 유럽과 한국 기업이 녹색 기술 분야에서 상호 보완적인 역량을 바탕으로 실질적인 협력 기회를 모색할 수 있기를 기대한다”고 말했다.
